Microsoft is introducing new “autonomous agents” powered for its Copilot assistant by AI, which will expand your team’s capabilities like never before. These AI-driven tools are designed to take on repetitive tasks, boost efficiency, and free up time for more strategic work, making your team more productive and agile in today’s fast-paced world, the company announced.
These agents had previously available in private preview since their initial announcement in May,these autonomous agents will be moving into public review starting next month. after Microsoft announced them initially in May. This shift will allow a broader range of organizations to start building and deploying their own AI driven agents, meaning more organizations can start building AI agents of their own.
Customers will be able to use AI agents with a range of capabilities, from simple prompt-and-response interaction to fully autonomous agents that can handle tasks performing task like sending emails and handling employee onboarding.
AI agents can act as virtual workers, capable of copleting a series of tasks without the need of supervision. They areseen as a significantadvancement in large language model-based AI, moving beyond simple chat interfaces to provide a more integrated and seamless user experience. These create an experience that blends more seamlessly into the background.
In addition to enabling the creation of autonomous agents through Copilot Studio, Microsoft announced it will introduce 10 new autonomous agents in Dynamics 365, the company’s suite of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management application.
Copilot, which leverages large language models (LLMs), is trained to using their specific workplace data, according to a 2023 company blog post titled “Introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot – Your Copilot for Work.” The latest autonomous agents fuction represent “the new apps for an AI-powered world,” Microsoft stated, emphasizing their role in reshaping how the businesses operate and manage tasks in the evolving digital landscape.
Microsoft is also rolling out 10 pre-designed autonomous agents, each taiolored for specific business needs. These include agents some designed to prioritize high-potential sales leads, stream line communication with suppliers, and manage customer service interactions.
Shares of Microsoft saw a slight decline about 1% during intraday on Monday, however they have experienced a 10% increase overall in 2024.
